Track Control toggles Solo for the individual tracks Track Focus buttons select the individual tracks Pan/Device knobs control pan for the individual tracks Sliders control track volume for the individual tracks LCxl controls in columns 1 to 8 correspond to the selected factory template (1 to 8, 9 to 16, etc) The chosen template determines the range of tracks controlled. Here's a brief explanation of how I mapped the controls: Perhaps this will help someone else as a starting point. I started with Reaper factory settings and added only the mappings needed for the LCxl. The process wasn't all that difficult, just a bit tedious.įor what it's worth, I've attached my keymap. I went ahead and mapped the LCxl to Reaper. Had their been those particular well known CCs would already match assuming again, I'm not forgetting the obvious since I haven't had to do this in quite awhile. It looks like the LCXL is 100% programmable, meaning there are no predefined transport buttons. However, if memory serves, I thought Reaper appended learned CCs so if that is the case you can 'learn' the button on your device and it just gets appended to the chosen action which is how I always do it. You can then take that CC value and enter in to LCXL if that is what you want to do. You can see what is already mapped + the existing mapping by looking at the equivalent action in the actions window. Many of the staple items like Play/Record for example are already mapped. Does Reaper have any built-in mapping of MIDI CC messages? I'm thinking it might be easier to use the Launch Control XL editor to reassign the MIDI messages for each control to correspond to those that Reaper already recognizes. Thanks for the help.I am using a "User Template"Īctually, let me ask this a different way. I just did a search for "track select go" and it came up with "Track: Go to next track" and "Track: Go to previous track" I tried them both and they both skip a track until The "MIDI CC:" was changed from "Absolute" to "Relative 1(127=-1, 1=+1)". The user templates default to channel 1for user 1, channel 2 for user 2 through user 8 to channel 8.įactory templates use channel 9 to channel 16, as always when using the various user / factory settings make sure of your midi channel usage by other devices in your DAW set up. You should be using the user templates, the user templates are able to be modified, the factory templates are not able to be modified. The track info does show in the mixer view depending on the track layout you have chosen for the mixer view Your moving an slider should be seen on your screen. In the actions filter type "track select go"

Now to learn how to control some effects parameters (EQ bands for example)įor the track select there is an next and previous function in actions, it is not an SWS action. Mute/Solo/RecArm/Record start and stop/pan are good to go A few things: The "Track Select" arrows jump to the second track up and not the next track.Īny way of having the track volume fader display the fader info (volume up or down numbers) Looked through SWS and didnt find anything that I could use.
